HOW DOES HOLY SEEDS DIFFER FROM OTHER SKINCARE BRAND?

We use only effective natural, mostly organic and vegan botanical ingredients approved by COSMOS. NO NASTIES allowed in Holy Seeds products.

We believe plastic pollution is the big problematic elephant in the room of the Cosmetic industry. That’s why you will only buy our products in glass pots and bottles which you can return for free and gain a discount if you do ( 15% every 4 containers).

We support indigenous knowledge and local production of Nz native botanical extracts.

We donate part of your purchase value to environmental and social local projects.

WHERE ARE HOLY SEEDS PRODUCTS MADE?

We manufacture our products in small batches in a home laboratory in Central Auckland following the good manufacturing industry practices set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). These rules are contained in the Cosmetics Products Group Standard (CPGS). Their website also lists components of cosmetic products not allowed.

WHY I CAN'T SEE ORGANIC CERTIFICATION ON THE LABEL?

Getting certified is a long and expensive process that can take years and a lot of resources, that’s why only established brands have already achieved that. We will always use Organic ingredients when they are available from our suppliers in Nz. 90% of our oils are Organic while some of the butters, waxes and extracts are just not available in Organic form. Trust our commitment to use Organic without doubts.

WHAT SHALL I DO IF I EXPERIENCE AN ALLERGIC REACTION?

Holy Seeds formulations are developed considering sensitive and reactive skin’s needs; however, you may still be allergic to specific ingredients. We recommend a patch test behind the ear or just under the jawline. Apply a small amount of product to the area and wait 24 hours to see if irritation occurs. If you experience an allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately and report the issue by writing an email to hello@holyseeds.co.nz. We will reply within 24 hours.

CAN I USE HOLY SEEDS PRODUCTS ON CHILDREN?

Nonetheless, you or your child may still be allergic to specific ingredients so we always recommend a skin patch test before using any Holy Seeds product.

Why Holy Seeds?

WHY ARE HOLY SEEDS PRODUCTS GOOD FOR MY SKIN?

All natural and mostly Organic ingredients are just the best you can treat your skin with!  It means in our products you will never find the nasties :

  • PARABENS & other SYNTHETIC PRESERVATIVES derived from petrochemicals; are added to beauty products to prevent spoilage from bacteria and extend shelf life. The big concern with petroleum-derived preservatives is that they penetrate the skin easily and have been found to mimic oestrogen levels in our body altering the normal levels in our body. The most common parabens you can find in other brands are methylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben and propylparaben, benzoic acid, hydroxybenzoic acid, hydroxybenzoate and phenoxyethanol.
  • SULFATES. The most common are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) & Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) are used in skincare to create a lather when used on your skin (especially in shampoo, body wash, face wash..) giving that squeaky -clean feeling and illusion of cleanness associated with foaming products. They can be naturally derived from Palm or Coconut oil or petroleum derived, both of which are problematic environmental issues too. Sulfate compounds are found to cause skin irritation, especially around the mouth and eyes because they are too aggressive and besides the dirt they strip your skin also of the natural oils that it needs for protection
  • PEGs or Polyethylene glycols are used in cosmetics and personal care products as emulsifiers, surfactants, cleansing agents, penetration enhancers and skin conditioners. You will find them in shampoos, deodorants, moisturisers, facial cleansers and other skincare products and cosmetics but many studies demonstrate that they can cause skin irritation and severe hypersensitivity reactions and can contain contaminants that will be absorbed easily through the skin.
  • SYNTHETIC FRAGRANCES
  • ARTIFICIAL COLOURS
